Left at 6:00 am this morning. It was overcast with the feel that it could have a down pour at any moment. One interesting adventure was when I came upon a sign that the bridge I was going to need to cross was closed. I followed the detour that wanted to put me on route 2. That section of route 2 did not allow pedestrian traffic. A State DOT truck was turning in and stopped. I asked what the status of the bridge was. Thy assured me I would be fine. The bridge was closed to commercial traffic - local traffic would be able to cross. NOT!
The construction crew took pity on me. A man smaller than I hoisted the bike , with bags, over his shoulder and walked it over the shaky planking to the other side. Track the tour by clicking here.
